The new ‘Send’ Facebook button and you

It has been announced that Facebook has added a new social button called ‘Send’ to its already popular line-up of social buttons. This is similar to the popular ‘Like’ button, but instead allows you to share information (for example, web links etc) more readily – they can even add a message about the link.

Poll shows Facebook friends’ holiday pics offer travel ad opportunities

According to Travolution, a recent Skyscanner poll has found that 52% of people who saw pictures of friends on holiday via Facebook were inspired to book a holiday at the same place. According to a recent study by
Nielsen, online video usage increased by a huge 45% in January 2011 as compared to 2010.
Last month, YouTube counted more than 112m unique viewers (US), with Facebook the second most popular with 32m unique viewers. These statistics demonstrate the amount of users who are interested in quality online video content.
Econsultancy reported on a study of over 2,000 UK consumers and found that 52% said they found information about the destination useful when choosing a holiday. But while most travel websites are providing more information to consumers – are they offering everything possible to help tap into this?
