Online Marketing Show Success
14/07/2010
We recently exhibited at the Online Marketing Show in London which huge success! We met plenty of friendly faces and have even more clients to welcome to our already happy roster.
The Online Marketing Show is THE place to discover the latest in online innovations as well as meet the leading providers. We brought our industry leading travel technology (amongst other things) to the show and were swept off our feet by the amount of interest. After countless demonstrations and making many new friends, we loved every second on our stand but unfortunately even good things have to come to an end (because the show finished!).

Announcing ‘Intelligent’ Travel Technology
06/05/2010
Travel Technology just got ‘intelligent’. Digital Trip are pleased to announce the launch of their new ground breaking Module – ‘Geo-Database with Dynamic Pages’ – making your website ‘grow’ its own content.
This may sound like jargon, but let us explain; The ‘Geo-Database’ is essentially a catalogue of all your destination guides, hotel information and beyond. Combine that with ‘Dynamic Pages’ that automatically generate new pages based on the descriptions of each hotel result in every search completed on your Travel Package website. These pages include accommodation descriptions, imagery, maps and special offers specific to that hotel. Plus there’s a search box too, so not only will your website users find the relevant content they’re looking for, they are encouraged to book straight away too.
Because it’s so ‘intelligent’ you may start out with just a few information pages, but by the end of your first month – you could have thousands! (Without lifting a finger)
These new pages are then indexed by search engines to help you generate more ‘natural’ website traffic to convert into many orders.

DT's Laura Rudd takes on Co-Op
04/05/2010
In response to an article on the Travolution website that claims Mr Greenacre (Director of The Co-operative Travel Group) said travel technology providers"overpromise, overprice and underdeliver" (http://www.travolution.co.uk/articles/2010/04/27/3455/tti-co-op-boss-says-tech-companies-are-unrealistic.html) Laura Rudd, Digital Trips Head of Digital Media commented that:
It is true that some travel tech firms charge unprecedented amounts because they ‘re-invent the wheel’ each time; this just isn’t necessary if you have a ‘best practice’ approach. We utilise tried and tested functionality and package it up so technology can be slotted together seamlessly (as if it were Lego) and websites launched sometimes within days, not months.
Some agencies are making promises that they can’t deliver, but from my experience, the keystone to successful delivery of any website is project management. We implement a fully managed project lifecycle that defines each stage of the project and provides real objectives - clear project objectives eliminates all of the hidden costs.
With our fixed price Travel Packages, long gone are unrealistic timescales, un-tested functionality and extortionate pricing – it’s just functional travel websites that are custom designed, that work from day one and are delivered when promised. Digital Trip is one agency that Mr Greenacre’s remarks do not apply to!

Digital Trip Challenges Co-Op Boss Comments
03/05/2010
Digital Trip, a leading travel technology provider, is challenging Co-Op Director Mike Greenacre’s recent comments that travel tech agencies "overpromise, overprice and underdeliver".
“Having been on the client side for years and experiencing similar difficulties and frustrations, Digital Trip were founded to combat this stigma and can honestly guarantee that this is one agency that could make even Mr Greenacre say WOW!” Laura Rudd, Digital Trip’s Head of Digital Media, explains.
When asked why Mr Greenacre would think agencies are ‘over-priced’, Rudd admitted that “it is true that some travel tech firms charge unprecedented amounts for a travel website because they ‘re-invent the wheel’ each time; this just isn’t necessary because good, proven functionality should simply be used again – essentially having a ‘best practice’ approach. The Digital Trip team are ‘best practice’ ambassadors: utilising tried and tested functionality and packaging it up so technology can be slotted together seamlessly (as if it were Lego) and websites launched sometimes within days, not months. This ultimately means smaller costs for agencies (regardless of overheads!)”.
Laura added “I was very surprised to hear that travel agents are having to continually re-invest in their website technology – why should you have pay for new updates and releases when other technology providers, for example Microsoft, offer it for free? We don’t charge our customers a penny.”
Addressing the issue of websites being delivered on-time, Laura sympathises with Mr Greenacre – “some agencies are making promises that they can’t deliver. From our experience, the keystone to successful delivery of any website is project management, without it – your company, and your clients, will drown. At Digital Trip, we implement a fully managed project lifecycle that defines each stage of the project and provides real objectives. Ensuring every party is clear on the project objectives eliminates all of the hidden costs that some agencies are infamous for. Plus, our process not only guarantees that communication is free-flowing between us and our clients but also that vital specifications are approved and understood by both sides to guarantee delivery on-time – every time.”
Rudd continued “We’ve created our Travel Package solutions to address the huge gap in the market - to deliver fixed price travel websites that save on time and money without compromising on quality. So we can safely say that long gone are unrealistic timescales, extortionate pricing and in its place are functional travel websites that are custom designed, that work from day one and are delivered when promised.”
In a final statement, Laura added “We would welcome a meeting with Mr Greenacre to demonstrate that there are some agencies out there that could still make him say ‘WOW!’”

The formula to a winning travel website
28/04/2010
According to a recent study, over half of UK travellers use online travel agencies
1 and slightly more than half of business travel is now booked using the web
2. Plus the market size is set to keep growing too – it’s estimated that by 2015 70%
3 of travel will be booked online. So how will you get your share?
With the online arena for travel agencies ever expanding and ‘live’ bookable websites becoming more and more in-demand; your online presence needs to be much more than just a travel website. To be successful, your website needs to be ‘sticky’, trust-worthy, functional and above all easy to use – least we forget the design, which needs to make you stand out! If a user visits your website and, at first glance, any of these standards are not met - you can kiss that customer goodbye.
One would think that staying ahead of the ‘game’ would be a constant up-hill struggle – it’s not, if you know who to talk to…
Digital Trip ensure your travel website not only meets the invisible standards set by web users, but it makes them go ‘Wow!’. After-all, the Digital Trip team have been creating super-successful travel websites for decades, so if anyone understands your market and objectives – they do.
Setting the benchmark in travel technology
Digital Trip are ‘best practice’ ambassadors; and it’s these best practice principles that has led to them to become the leader in providing travel technology. This may seem like a bold statement to make, but the founders of Digital Trip have a collective experience of over 30 years of delivering travel industry excellence – so it’s easy to see why their competitors can’t keep up.
One of Digital Trip’s best kept secrets is their Travel Packages. Utilising templated functionality that’s tried and tested along with custom design means shorter production times and lower costs – without compromising on quality.
Each package comes with a set of pre-packaged functionality or ‘Modules’ that seamlessly integrate with each other. These could be news feeds and FAQ’s or more advanced Modules such as CRM integration or Affiliate Marketing. No matter what size of the module, it’s almost like Lego; you just keep on slotting each piece of functionality (or Module) into the other and it all works seamlessly!
All Travel Package websites include:
- Proven technology – Functionality that works from day one (yes!)
- Custom design – The creative team make your homepage unique to your brand
- Fully Content managed – Easily control every element of your website all in one secure place (no more waiting or additional costs)
- Fast turn-around – Websites can be launched in days, not months
- Low, fixed costs - Ready made technology means lowest prices (starting from just £3,995 + vat for LIVE BOOKABLE websites)
- Project managed – Ensuring delivery on time and to your budget (every time)
- Peace of mind – FREE support, plus maintenance contracts are available
- Future proof technology – FREE updates to your modules and systems mean you’re always up-to-date with the latest releases
You would think that all this would be expensive, but it’s not; Digital Trip Travel Package websites start from as little as £3,995 + vat for
live bookable travel websites and you can even pay in instalments.
